What the free merge does
It joins your PDFs into one file, with the pages in the order you set. It uses the same job as the paid PDF merge API, which is in beta. Either the whole merge succeeds, or you get an error and no file.
Limits
- Two or three PDFs per run, 8 MB in total.
- An encrypted PDF cannot be merged.
- Five runs per day from the same browser.
- Results are deleted within the hour, or at once when you download them.
Questions
How many PDFs can I merge?
Two or three PDFs per run, and 8 MB in total. Reorder them before you merge; the pages come out in the order shown.
What if one PDF cannot be read?
The merge stops and you get a clear error naming the problem. No partial file is returned, and nothing is charged.
Can I merge a password-protected PDF?
No. Encrypted and signed PDFs are refused, because joining them would change or break their protection.
